Migration from EMC Documentum to OpenText

CHALLENGE

Our client in Life Science industry faced an End of Lifecycle of EMC Documentum V5.x.

Upgrade to the new version of Documentum has been evaluated as not economic.

Need to retire the system and migrate stored files into validated OpenText Content Server.

PROJECT SCOPE

  • Migration of more than half a million objects, about 300.000 files from EMC Documentum into controlled environment of OpenText Content Server using standard tools like Object Importer

  • Project ran under GAMP5

  • Project duration >1 year, project size >2000 hrs

SOLUTION

  • Extensive analysis of differences between the systems. For Migration standard tools of EMC DeepExport Tool and OpenText Object Importer have been used. Each document has gone through an integrity (checksum) and completeness check.
