Migration from File Server to SharePoint
CHALLENGE
Our client in Telecommunication industry faced compliance issues with access to confidential information on File Server.
Historically grown content with highly complex folder structures on File Server decreased efficiency and collaboration.
With rollout of SharePoint on premise our client needed support to concept the migration of 20TB of data from shared drives to SharePoint.
PROJECT SCOPE
20TB of content in scope with high-complex linked Excel sheets and technical data formats. Concept for Data Migration to SharePoint on premise and Guide for Data Clean-Up
Project Duration: 9 months; project size >1000 hrs
SOLUTION
Analyse the data and the content to be migrated, prepare a Migration Concept including the User Guide for Data clean-up. For the data analysis “Treesize” has been used. Management of complex links between Excel files has been resolved with “Link Fixer Advanced".
